Our Story
Health Access MN is dedicated to making health care accessible to all. When the Affordable Care Act created a new way to enroll in health care coverage through on-line exchanges like MNsure, it also called for a new kind of advocate — navigators — to help people understand their health plan options and enroll. Health Access MN was founded in 2013 and quickly became one of MNsure’s first and largest navigator grantees and official partners.
Health Access MN was created by public interest attorneys to make real the promise of the Affordable Care Act. Our staff and leadership have extensive experience working with state agencies and community organizations to expand access to health care and implement health care reforms. Health Access MN works hard to ensure consumers have excellent, policy-informed assistance enrolling in affordable health care.
Our Mission
Health Access MN’s mission is to connect people to health care, and health care policy to people.
Our staff of experienced MNsure-certified navigators and advocates help individuals and families throughout the Metro and Southeast Minnesota understand the benefits available to them. We guide you through a maze of complex terminology and systems to give you the information you need to choose and enroll in health coverage. We partner with organizations, agencies, and small businesses to educate and support clients and employees. We also engage in systemic efforts to improve health care access for all Minnesotans.
